Description

of my father and me

no, it's not "my father and i"

"of" is a preposition

the pronoun which follows it would be the OBJECT of the preposition

"I" is a subject, not an object

widely popular misuse of grammar which really irks me

O: my father and I went to the zoo

X: here is a picture of my father and I

The way I remember which word to use is by saying the two sentences seperate first. Take this sentence as an example:

"My father and I are going fishing."

I'd break it down first into "My father is going fishing." and "I am going fishing." If, at first, I thought "Me and my father are going fishing." then I would have following that thought with "Me am going fishing." which is clearly incorrect.

I don't know if this is always correct but it saves me most of the time. :x

Oh! and I love your artwork~ I'm going through your entire gallery right now. You can probably guess where I was linked from. xD
